just curious if anyone was thinking on attending this year?
The convention falls on 4 days about Labor Day Weekend.

I went last year. Stayed in my friends hotel room. The weather is nuts. I ended up getting con crud from going so i dont know if ill go this year. Also i need to save up to go to Denver for GABF so that will take priority. Also it is the same weekend as Black Pride AND the Chik-fil-a kickoff game on saturday, Alabama (#RollToilet) vs Florida Sate AND monday, TN vs Ga Tech so there will be a LOT of ppl downtown...the con itself is a blast tho...

I know all the downs to the convention as I have an eternal membership and been attending it since about 1991 or so. was curious if anyone else in the community was willing to brave the heat, crowds, ridiculous hotel pricing and all the other mess. As for black pride I am not sure that happens during Labor Day weekend.

I don't go anymore cause it is way too crouded for my taste, maybe if D*C pulls up her big girl panties and moves to the GAWCC I go but until then Ill just save money, now if people are in town for hangouts during the con, I have no problem hopping on MARTA and meeting up somewhere

thats what AWA is for...:-) smaller con, not as crowded but there are rumours they are charging for parking this year (damn suntrust)...who knows.

Sadly AWA hasn't changed in years and I have been going since '99
The con is stagnated I would rather meet up with friends, there are a ton of public meeting places where I would love to meet up with people.
